The Land Use Committee considers all matters connected to the use of public and private land within the Neighborhood Council boundaries, as well as the laws, ordinances, and regulations that govern these uses.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Planning and Zoning Matters
Discretionary entitlements requested by developers, along with building and safety, rent stabilization, and nuisance abatement issues.
Transportation and Mobility
Public streets, public transit, and all forms of private mobility—including cars, bicycles, and pedestrian travel.
Public Infrastructure and Support Systems
Essential services such as water and power, telecommunications, and air pollution control.
Public Facilities and Spaces
Parks, libraries, fire stations, government offices, and utility yards.
Community Aesthetics
Public art, sign control, and the overall visual character of the community.
Sustainable and Environmentally Responsible Land Use
The environmentally aware and sustainable use of land, water, and energy.
Natural Resource Protection
The protection and enhancement of the community’s natural resources, including land, water, vegetation, animals, insects, and other living ecosystems.
The Land Use Committee meets on the second Monday of the month at 7:00 pm at Plaza Del Valle, 8600 Van Nuys Boulevard, Panorama City, CA 91402. The Community Room is behind and east of the central children's play area. There is ample free parking in the shopping center parking lot.
