Summer Academy for California Student Leaders
Children need to learn so much before kindergarten! First 5 LA is a wonderful, free community resource for helping your children in their first five years that is very Spanish-speaker friendly! "First 5 LA believes that the first five years of life establish the foundation for the future success of our children. We put parents at the center of our work since parents and caregivers are at the heart of a child's development."

Justice for My Sister Collective is hosting a free 6-week training for youth ages 13-18 in leadership, storytelling, environmental & racial justice, and media literacy. Students will make short podcast episodes about food access, seed sovereignty, urban gardening, and issues regarding climate change. Applications are accepted until Friday, June 19th at 5 pm, and you can apply here

Science, Technology, Education, and Math (STEM) Activities for K-5: The Discovery Cube in BD6 has launched a new FREE interactive educational STEM portal, Discovery Cube Connect! This platform connects parents and educators to more than 150 high-quality, hands-on STEM activities for grades K-5 that enable experiential science learning at home. All resources have been carefully selected by Discovery Cube’s trained educators to align with grade-level science standards, for ease of use at home, and to provide hands-on learning for children. Check back regularly, as Discovery Cube will continue to add more activities, videos, and multimedia learning experiences over the coming weeks and months that bring science to life across grades. The Los Angeles Public Library is providing many online resources, including homework help, career online high school, digital books, magazines, music, movies, and more for Angelenos to enjoy for free with their Los Angeles Public Library card during this Safer at Home period. Panorama City Library
Our library, in addition to providing books and movies to borrow, put on a variety of free programs for children and provides free summer lunches for kids who are out of school. Kid's path is a wonderful program available through the library for children, where you can "Find great books to read, fun stuff to do, help with homework and information for parents and caregivers." WIC Panorama City
WIC is a free supplemental nutrition program for low-income women, infants, and children. This program helps pregnant women, postpartum women and young children (less than 5 years of age) eat well and stay healthy.

Our Parks
Panorama City parks provide a variety of sports programs such as baseball, basketball, cardio-kickboxing, gymnastics, soccer, martial arts, tennis, and volleyball. Other programs that are provided include after school clubs, arts & crafts, free L.A. Kids programs, Mad Science, preschool, and seasonal day camps. Summer night lights come to our parks in the summer, a program that brings sports, arts and recreational activities, resource fairs, health screenings, workshops, jobs, and connections to resources that residents can utilize year-round.
