The Land Use Committee covers matters that are part of the City’s planning process (the General Plan). This includes zoning and development, transportation, parks and open space, and the regulation of specialized land uses such as murals, signs, billboards, street vending, and canabis business locations. It also includes public utilities that are distributed through the public right of way (water, power, gas, and telecommunications). Other committees may cover these topics from a different perspective.

Committees are discussion spaces where people with a similar interest can consider local issues. Committees make recommendations for action to the Board of Directors. It is possible that some issues will be considered in more than one committee. The Board is the final decision-making authority for the Neighborhood Council.
