  • PCNC Commerce Committee November Update November 4, 2011

    On September 22,  2011, the Panorama City Neighborhood Council recognized six top business executives that have made a difference in Panorama City, with a Plaque of Appreciation.

    Mr. Sean Hashem (Roscoe Investments CEO/Owner) was the first major investor of the 2000s that believed Panorama City can be great.  He has spent millions of dollars in this community and owns the building at 14500 Roscoe Blvd. where the Panorama City Office, US Bank, and AT&T are located.  He has been a great supporter of the Panorama City Neighborhood Council from the beginning and he really cares about this community. He is also the Chairman for the Panorama City Business Improvement District, which provides security & maintenance of the business district in Panorama City.

    Mr. Aaron Tunney (McDonald’s Corporation) is the son of Mr. Hank Tunney (McDonald’s Corporation Franchise).  He follows the legacy of his father as an active member of this community, donating thousands of dollars every year to schools, parks, and community activities. Mr. Tunney and his family are respected, admired, and loved by many community leaders and by this community.  He is a proud member of the Panorama City Neighborhood Council Commerce Committee.

    Mr. Ron Collins (Panorama Mall) is a great supporter of the Panorama City Neighborhood Council and also one of the founders.  He is always ready to lend a hand in community projects and his company has spent millions of dollars in Panorama City.  Mr. Collins is a proud Panorama City resident and he has been here for more than half of a century.  He is a proud member of the Panorama City Neighborhood Council Commerce Committee.

    Mr. Cesar De La Cruz (Plaza Del Valle) is a great supporter of the Panorama City Neighborhood Council and one of the founders as well. Mr. De La Cruz is always ready to lend a hand in the community, and thanks to his leadership and his company, Agora Realty, many important businesses have opened in Panorama City including Denny’s, Western Beauty Academy, L.A. Kings Valley Ice Center, and Helena’s Hair Salon. Mr. De La Cruz is a proud member of the Panorama City Neighborhood Council Commerce Committee.

    Mr. Anju Haniffa (7-Eleven) is one of the newest yet best investors in our community. Mr. Haniffa opened his 7-Eleven on the corner of Sepulveda & Roscoe. From the beginning, Mr. Haniffa was ready to work with the Panorama City Neighborhood Council and this community.  His 7-Eleven is the first 7-Eleven that does not sell liquor. Every single time when he is called upon for support he is ready to lend a hand and support any community activity. He has donated hundreds of dollars to our schools, parks, and community activities since he opened the doors to his business less than a year ago. Panorama City is proud to have him as our friend and business partner.

    Mr. Sergio Ovando (Dominos Pizza, Panorama Mall) is a great supporter of the Panorama City Neighborhood Council and he is always ready to go the extra mile to make sure everything is according to plan. He provides the neighborhood council and any community activity with an extra discount when purchases are made at his location. His company has also donated hundreds of dollars to schools, parks and community events.

    These six gentleman have really made a difference in Panorama City, opening new business, creating jobs, investing in the community, lending a hand and making Panorama City the place to shop, work, and live.

    Thank you all for being some of the top Panorama City heroes, we are proud of all you have done for this community and we look forward to an even better future.

  • PCNC Commerce Committee 1st Anniversary July 13, 2011

    On Monday July 12, 2010 12:00pm at Wells Fargo Bank of Panorama City (Conference Room)

    Commerce Committee Members: Saul Mejia(PCNC),  Tony Wilkinson (PCNC), Liz Galan (PCNC), Ron Collins (Panorama Mall), Cesar De La Cruz (Plaza Del Valle), Jean Lubin (Jean’s Locksmith); joined by Marcos Sanchez (Office of Assembly Member Felipe Fuentes) , Mauricio Zamudio (L.A. City Attorney’s Office) sat for the 1st time to bring back to life the PCNC Commerce Committee with myself as the chair.

    Not so sure about what I was supposed to do we initiated our first meeting, since then in just one year we have grown a lot and we have had a very successful committee, we recognize companies such as Chase Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, Ihop restaurant, Dr. Hogly Wogly’s Restaurant, Panorama Mall, Plaza Del Valle, Dominos Pizza, Walgreens, Denny’s Restaurant, R & R Optical, Valley Indoor Swap Meet, Helena’s Hair Salon, Jeans Lock Smith, 7 Eleven, Western Beauty Academy, Jarritos, La Sierra Night Club, Herbal Life, Perfumeria, Aztlan Internet Café, US Bank,  Montoya’s Tax Services, Toca Musica School of music, CVS Pharmacy, Chop Teriyaki, Mis Amigos Restaurant, Roscoe Investments, and McDonald’s.

    We have created partnerships with more than 100 businesses, Government Officials, the Hispanic Business Network & the Pilipino Chamber Of Commerce. We have been feature in the Business Journal Magazine and recently in the Negocios Del Valle Magazine. I want to thank all the business that have made this committee a very successful committee, and all the members of this committee who have help me take this committee to the next level, I look forward to the new year as we grow bigger and stronger to make Panorama City the place to work & shop.

  • June Update from the Commerce Committee June 16, 2011

    During the month of May, CVS Pharmacy and Chop Teriyaki opened their doors in Panorama City, CA.  If you have a chance, please visit them and welcome them to our neighborhood.

    I also had the opportunity to sit down and make future plans for our community with the Pilipino Chamber Of Commerce Vice Chair Mrs. Em Manansala Roberts, Ms. Maria Amor Founder and CEO of Exotifit, and Ms. Mabel Muños from First 5 L.A.

    In the Commerce Committee Meeting for the Month of June we had the honor and pleasure of having Mr. Joseph Caruso, general manager of our new CVS, Mrs. Norma D. from Mis Amigos Restaurant, Mrs. Sylvia Ordaz from Negocios Del Valle Magazine, Juan Bern from Union Financial Co., and Sergio Salcido from Skayline Security.

  • Panorama City Welcomes US Bank March 24, 2011

    On March 15th, 2011, US Bank had their grand opening and multiple elected officials, City agencies, corporations, and individuals in the business industry gathered to welcome US Bank to Panorama City, CA.

    It was honor to have been invited and been able to attend.

    This was an historic event in which once again we were able to prove that Panorama City will be great.  Businesses like US Bank are the future of Panorama City.  This is no longer a dream but a fact.

    L.A. City Council Richard Alarcon, L.A. City Council Tony Cardenas, Gemma  Jimenez (Field Deputy for Senator Alex Padilla), Cesar Huerta (Field Deputy for Assembly Member Felipe Fuentes), Panorama City Neighborhood Council Chair Dianabel Gonzalez, North Hills East Neighborhood Council Commerce Chair Daniel Jimenez, Paul Badie and Sean Hashem (Premier business Centers owners), and Ron Collins (Panorama Mall General Manager) were among the distinguished guests that were present to welcome US Bank to Panorama City.

    US Bank presented $5000.00 to New Directions For Youth; and US Bank Branch Manager Stephanie Velador committed herself and her entire team to participate in community activities and serve Panorama City residents with the best service in town. Over all it was an awesome day and an historic day in the future of Panorama City.  Thank you every single one of you that participated in this event and made this possible.  Thank you, US Bank, and all of you that believe Panorama City is the place to make business.

  • Commerce Committee Updates December 28, 2010

    Hello and Happy New Year from the PCNC Commerce Committee.

    This year the Commerce Committee had many accomplishments and among them we were able to recognize multiple businesses and create a closer and more united business community.

    In May 2010 we recognized Chase Bank for maintaining their area clean and organize and for helping us keep the corner of Van Nuys and Chase clean and presentable to our residents.

    In August 2010 we recognized IHOP of Panorama City for serving our community for more than 50 years, IHOP of Panorama City is also the oldest IHOP in the world.

    In September of 2010 the Panorama City Neighborhood Council held the “Back to School” event in which multiple companies participated and help us provide the youth of Panorama City with more than 300 free back packs and school utensils.

    In October 2010 we recognized Dr. Hogly Wogly’s Barbeque Place for outstanding service and for being one of the best restaurants in Panorama City, they have also been recognize in the past at State level and National level.

    In December 2010 we recognized RR Optical for outstanding service to the Panorama City community for more than 20 years.

    We recognized Mr. Donald Lovett from the Business Improvement District (B.I.D.) Team, for his outstanding work in serving the Panorama City Community.

    We recognized those business that participated in our “Back to School Event” in September, those business were as follow:

    Helena’s Hair Salon, Target, Western Beauty Academy, Walgreens, La Sierra Records, Aztlan Internet Café, Herbal Life, and others.

    We also recognized those businesses that supported all year long the Panorama City Neighborhood Council and the Commerce Committee, those business were as follow:

    Jeans Lock Smith, Panorama Mall, Plaza Del Valle, Wells Fargo Bank, Dominos Pizza (Panorama Mall), and the Valley Indoor Swap Meet.

    During this year we were able to bring multiple new business to Panorama City – among them Denny’s and T-Mobile. We attended their grand openings and welcomed them to our community.

    We look forward to the New Year as US Bank will move in and many other business as well.
